Former Likoni MP Masoud Mwahima wants Coast politicians advocating for secession to be probed.Mwahima termed the secession talks as a plot to cause division among Coast residents and Kenyans at large.Speaking to journalists in Mombasa on Monday, the former Raila Odinga ally condemned Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi for advocating for secession.Mwahima said secession is not a solution to the issues facing the Coast region, adding that Joho and Kingi have their own agenda in the push for separation.The former Likoni lawmaker noted that Coast people have been living in unity with the rest of the country, adding that secession will never work.He accused Joho sand Kingi of allegedly being used by certain forces in opposition to agitate for secession.“We are not going to allow some few people to push for their selfish and malicious agenda in the name of secession,” said Mwahima.The former MP asked Coast residents not to be swayed by politicians pushing for their own selfish interests.Joho and Kingi said the Coast region has been marginalised by the current and previous regimes, arguing that separation is the only solution to end the economic, political and social problems facing the region.
