Former Raila Odinga's presidential campaign manager Eliud Owalo has warned Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho against using the Nairobi tour to endorse Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidates.
Owalo urged the outspoken governor to concentrate on the role of popularising ODM in various parts of the nation, and avoid endorsing candidates for various seats before the 2017 general elections.
He claimed to have information that Joho plans to endorse various candidates during the tour, a move which he said can be detrimental to the party.
“Should there be any departure from marketing Raila, through overt or covert actions to achieve mundane, petty and parochial hidden or malicious intentions such as marketing certain preferred ODM 2017 parliamentary candidates, whether in Kibra Constituency or anywhere else for that matter, be it directly or by implication, then kindly get it from me that some of us will resist the same in the strongest terms possible,” said Omwalo, as quoted by The Star.
