Joseph is to replace Vincent Ragwe who did not seek a re-election to defend his post.

However, the voting was halted briefly as some shareholders sought to know the whereabouts of Joseph who was conspicuously missing but sent a representative to present his profile.

"We cannot elect people who are at home sleeping," a shareholder said.

Other government posts held by Treasury Principal Secretary Kamau Thugge and Transport counterpart Irungu Nyakera are up for replacement, though no contender fronted to vie for them hence will remain held by the two.

The three seats fell vacant on rotational basis.

Results for the elections will be published next week on Wednesday.
