Former nominated Senator Paul Njoroge found himself in trouble after auctioneers descended on his property and made away with his SUV, a Land Cruiser V8.
Speaking to the media, Njoroge claimed that the vehicle was stolen by 30 police officers with 600,000 shillings which were meant to buy construction materials.
''I tried to find out from them what was the nature of the complaint and who was the complainant. They said that was not my business and I would find out when we reached the police station. They said that they never took my vehicle and they are the ones who took the vehicle, of course to me I took it like the stole which had 600,000 shillings,'' Njoroge said.
The auctioneers have, however, rebuffed the former senator's narrative that the vehicle was stolen, saying that it was peacefully recovered from him over a 3 million shillings loan that he has defaulted on.
They claim that the former senator has been playing cat and mouse games with them for over a year.
Njoroge has already lodged a complaint with the police.
Inspector General Joseph Boinett confirmed the incident and said that investigations into it were ongoing.
The vehicle has been traced at the Meridian Acceptance Firm, the firm that allegedly gave the former senator the 3 million shillings loan.
