Former Harambee Stars Head tactician Paul Put has been named the new Coach for Guinea football team, a few days after he parted ways with Kenya because of personal issues.
Put was given the mandate to guide the West African country through to the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Friday by the Nation's football administration due to his experience and good performance, having guided Harambee Stars to CECAFA Cup victory last year.
It was alleged that the Belgian demand more qualified technical bench members in order to record good performance in AFCON qualifiers yet the Federation of Kenya Football(FKF) was reluctant in doing so.
The disagreement led the Coach to present a letter of resignation to the Federation, only a few months after he was appointed to carry out the task.
His Assistant Stanley Okumbi was given the mandate to guide the team as the process of searching for a new Coach goes on.
Those who have been tipped to take over the Head Coach role for Harambee Stars include Mathare United Coach Francis Kimanzi and Jacob Mulee.
Last year, Put guided Harambee Stars in winning CECAFA tournament whereby they defeated Zanzibar on 3-2 on post-match penalties.
FKF vowed to bring on board a qualified Coach who will continue with the team's spirit of qualifying for the forthcoming AFCON tourney.
