Former Nakuru TNA chairman Abdul Noor wants the National Cohesion and Integration Commission chairman Francis Ole Kaparo to resign over accusations that he has failed to tame hate speech.
Noor said Kaparo has failed to contain hate speech remarks especially among politicians both in government and the opposition which has polarized the country.
Speaking at a press conference in Nakuru town on Thursday, Noor said Kaparo and his fellow NCIC commissioners should resign.
He said that cases of politicians inciting their followers and using abuse language in political rallies and on social media are n the rise and said that it should be stopped as the country nears the 2017 polls.
“We have not seen the work Kaparo and his commission is doing and if they cannot stop hate speech in this country then they better resign,” said Noor.
“We are seeing politicians from both sides using a divisive language but no action is being taken by NCIC and that is dangerous for the nation,” he added.
Noor added that tribalism is slowly creeping back into the country and called on President Kenyatta to unite the nation saying that all Kenyans need is peace.
