[Photo| Standard]Former Ugenya MP David Ochieng while testifying over his unfair loss in the August 8 general election on Wednesday, claimed before the court that he was wrongly linked with the murder of former IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando.Ochieng who is the leader of Movement for Democracy and Growth Party was defeated by his political rival of ODM Christopher Karan.The former legislator alleged that Karan together with his supporters visited the late Msando’s home in Lifunga village on August 1, and asked the mourners not to allow him to the funeral, saying he was linked to the murder.“This was the lowest moment during the campaigns, but I told my people to leave it to God,” Ochieng as quoted by the Standard. He further noted that the ODM legislator declared war on his supporters. Ochieng accused ODM party of leading campaigns which targeted his reputation.“My opponent, having been aware that there was a Jubilee Party candidate in the contest, went ahead to link my party to Jubilee, telling voters that a vote to me was a vote to Jubilee Party and its presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta,” Ochieng noted.
