This comes days after the revelation of a mega scandal at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), where maize cartels reportedly sold thousands of maize bags to the board and were paid instantly, as small farmers were being turned away.

Speaking on 'Cheche' on Sauti ya Mwananchi Radio Saturday, Noor said Kiunjuri must quit and let the relevant bodies carry out a probe into the scandal.

"Kiunjuri, being at the helm of the docket, should have resigned immediately the revelation was made. This is happening right under his nose and he should be the first one to be questioned," said Noor.

The same, he said, should apply to all the other officials and individuals named in the fiasco, noting that the 'super' farmers, some of whom delivered as many as hundreds of thousands of bags, must also be questioned.

"The CS must also ensure that all people named in the scandal are also held accountable. Otherwise, this one will also be forgotten and swept under the carpet like all the other scandals whose conclusions have never been made," he said.

A section of the controversial farmers from Uasni Gishu county have since come out to clear their names with regards to the fiasco.
