Ugas, who lost in the previous elections, said that the serving women rep had fulfilled her pledges, also sealing the gaps she previously thought was her major place of focus in the 2017 elections.

"Leadership is about passion and a mission to help correct an issue. I was also to be an aspirant for the Garissa women rep position in 2017 but decided to fully endorse and back Shukran Gure since she has satisfied the development gaps that i thought were missing in the county," said Ugas.

Citing Gure's brilliant presentation at Ramada Hotel in Minneapolis, United States, Ugas revealed that people should learn to give credit where it's due, adding that she had no option but to move to the podium to confess her support in favour of the incumbent.

The backing is now expected to offer a good chance for Gure to retain her seat that has attracted a number of smart female politicians from the county including Fatuma Kinsi, who similarly has massive support from the electorate.
