Governor Salim Mvurya has laid a foundation for the Sh390 million Kwale High court together with Chief Justice David Maraga.
The new court will be able to accommodate a capacity of 9 judges and will have 8 court rooms among other essential offices, CJ Maraga said.
"This is a huge historic step we have made as a County as it eases access to justice," he added on Monday.
Mvurya said a registry office for land and environment cases will also be set up immediately to ease the movement to Mombasa as ordered by the CJ.
"Those with cases in the Mombasa high court can now access information on dates, and time for their hearing in the current Kwale court," he noted.
"The judiciary is also ready to put up magistrate courts in all our four sub counties once the county government provides land," added Maraga.
"As governor I'm committed to ensure that we achieve this vision for the benefit of the people of Kwale and the nation at large."
