Three men and a woman were arraigned in Machakos High Court on Monday afternoon for allegedly murdering of a woman in Katoloni location, Machakos County.
Keziah Wanjiru, Wicliff Amida, Charles Branda and Joseph Mutua appeared before Machakos High Court Magistrate Michael Karanja after being arrested and accused of killing a woman at her residential home in March 14 2015.
Keziah Wanjiru is accused of having paid the three counterparts unidentified amount of money to carry out the murder of ‘her rival’ Hildah Mutua.
This according to the Court proceedings during the case mentioning, the incident resulted from a marital scandal involving Joseph Mutua and Keziah Wanjiru where Wanjiru ended up getting married to the man they both wanted.
Magistrate Karanja while giving his ruling gave a seven day ultimatum for the accused and accusers or their lawyers to petition the case for the case hearing to begin.
“A seven day non-extendible period is given to both sides to petition on the case tabled after which the case hearing will begin,” said Magistrate Karanja.
Hildah Mutua and Keziah Wanjiru are said to have met as they worked in the same company.
The four accused have been transferred to Machakos Police custody to be remanded before the case hearing next week Monday.
The case of the four accused was therefore postponed till March 30 2015.
