Four people suspected to be illicit brew sellers were on Tuesday arrested in Emabungo village, Maseno sub county.
West Karateng location Chief Nicholas Toro confirmed the arrest of the four.
During the operation, over 10,000 litres of locally brewed beer was destroyed.
The destruction follows President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive that authorities fight the brewing of outlawed beer.
Speaking to this writer in the wake of the operation, Mr Toro said his office will not sit and watch while the sellers are making profits from substances that are endangering peoples lives.
"First of all these sellers do not have permits to conduct such business, my office is doing everything to ensure that this area is free from illicit brews," said Toro.
He added that plans are underway to seize the liqour during the manufacturing time to avoid the spread to other parts of the region.
"Brewers usually operate late in the night to avoid detection, but I would like to inform them that it is over. We are gathering information on the brewing areas and soon we will ambush them," added Toro.
Toro urged the community to be supportive of the government initiative to fight illicit brews that are are ruining lives.
The four are currently held at Maseno Police Station.
