A trailer on Friday rammed into a house in Meru County, killing three family members.
Confirming the incident, Buuri OCPD David Muange said the incident occurred at about 7am, while the three were still sleeping.
Muange said the trailer, which was transporting fertiliser from Mombasa to Isiolo, slammed into six houses at Kwa Mungaria area after veering off the road, before killing a couple and their child.
According to the OCPD, the driver of the trailer died during the morning incident.
"It seems the driver was very exhausted," said Mr Muange, as quoted by the Nation.
A resident and two occupants of the trailer who sustained injuries were taken to St Theresa's Kirua Mission Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Isiolo Level 5 Hospital mortuary.
