(Photo/Star)Four people have died, hundreds of families left homeless following heavy rains in Marsabit.Two people drowned at Ollob village, Kalacha in North Horr constituency due to floods while while herders died in Logologo in Laisamis constituency on Tuesday.The heavy downpour has also killed livestock and destroyed houses in North Horr, Laisamis and Saku leaving families homeless.Marsabit governor Mohamud Ali on Wednesday said the herders who died were driving their camels back to the village when they have swept away with flooding rain waters.County commissioner Mwangi Meru said most parts in the region are inaccessible."Kalacha area can only be accessed by helicopter and most parts have been covered by rain waters", he said.He said in Saku area, floods submerged houses while in Dirib, Gobo and Jaldesa several houses were destroyed.Meru said the government will distribute relief food, blankets among other support materials to the affected families.The county is experiencing heavy rains after the prolonged drought that hit the North Eastern counties.
