Former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga will go into the books of history as one of the leaders who dreamed of a better Kenya.
Raila will be remembered for many things if he opted to retire from politics. Here are four historic things Raila did for Kenya;
Multiparty democracy
Raila is one of the leaders who fought toe to nail for multiparty democracy. History students will agree with me that Raila, Former prime minister, played an immense role in the repeal of section 2A that saw the formation of various political parties in the nation.
New constitution
The promulgation of the new constitution paved way for change in the leadership of this nation. Today, Kenyans can access government services from the comfort of their backyards, thanks to Raila Amolo Odinga.
End of Moi Era
Former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi ruled this nation for more 24 years. No one ever thought that one day Moi will leave power until Raila united with other leaders to mount pressure on him. It is through the formation of the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) that the rule of Nyayo came to an end.
Whistle blowing
The former prime minister has been a whistle blower. There are many scandals that have rocked the past regimes that would have gone unnoticed if Raila remained silent. Talk about NYS, Eurobond, Afya House and other mega scandals they all bring Raila into the minds of Kenyans.
