Four people were injured on Sunday afternoon in Eldoret after hawkers and county askaris clashed again.
Uasin Gishu county askaris were on their normal patrol in Eldoret central business area when they were confronted by hawkers.
The hawkers overpowered the county askaris injuring four civilians.
On Monday, the county director of communication Silas Tarus released a statement saying those who were injured during the fracas were innocent people who were on their home from church.
“The hawkers confronted the county askaris who were on their normal patrol duty. A legal action will be taken against the hawkers,” he said.
Tarus said private vehicles and shops were destroyed especially windows because the hawkers started throwing stones at the county officers.
