The Saturday evening accident involved a Toyota probox and a cyclist who was hit before the car lost control and veered off the road, rolling several times before landing into a ditch.

The casualties in the car were a man, his wife and their six year-old girl, and their car was heading to Nakuru.

Alfonse Njoroge, a witness, said the car was speeding and the driver could not stop it immediately to avoid hitting the cyclist.

"The car was at high speed and the driver could not avoid hitting the cyclist," said Njoroge.

Mercy Wangarwa said the man was trying to cross the road when he was hit by the car.

The four victims were rushed to Nakuru Level 5 Hospital for treatment.
