Four inmates have escaped from Kibos Main Prison in Kisumu County.

County Commander Taitus Yoma said the the capital offenders cut wires and grills before jumping the prison walls Thursday night.

"We have dispatched a team that is pursuing the inmates to bring them back to where they belong," Yoma said.

He said investigations have been launched to determine how they were able to purchase the tools they used to cut the wires.
