His recent ouster as the Senate minority leader has caused a storm in the National Super Alliance (NASA). 

As politicians and Kenyans continue to elicit mixed reactions over the move to eject Weta, as he is popularly known, it is interesting to note that most of us do not know much about him. 

Here are four interesting things you didn’t know about Senator Moses Wetangula. 

1. He schooled at Friends School Kamusinga

Wetangula attended Nalondo Primary School for his primary education. He later joined Busakala Secondary School, Teremi Secondary School, and Friends School Kamusinga.  FSK, as it is popularly known, is among the top national schools in the region. The Senator later joined the University of Nairobi where he studied law.

2. He is a lawyer by profession

Wetangula is a renowned lawyer. He is a holder of a  Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from UoN. He has been practicing law for years before he joined the political arena. He is still a lawyer although he has not been active in the courtroom.

3. He once resigned as a minister 

Moses Wetangula resigned from the post of the Minister of Foreign Affairs on October 27, 2010, over the alleged corruption in procurement and disposals of overseas embassies. Wetangula resigned to pave way to allow investigations into his role in the purchase and sale of Kenyan embassies in Pakistan, Egypt, Belgium, Japan, and Nigeria.

4. He hails from a political family

 Wetangula family’s has been active in the political arena. He is the brother of Tim Wanyonyi, Westlands MP. Fred Wetangula, his other brother is a powerful Nairobi businessman.
