Four people were killed on Tuesday after a vehicle they were travelling in was hit by an improvised explosive device at Algabay, Garissa County.

The vehicle was heading to Liboi from Kulan for business when it was hit.

Three people were killed on the spot, while the other person passed away while being taken to hospital.

Quick Response Team officers from Kulan and Kenya Police Service and Administration Police officers from Liboi are at the scene trying to establish how the assailants made their escape, Citizen Digital reports.

This comes after six security officers were injured after a Kenya Revenue Authority Land Cruiser was attacked last week.
