[Photo: kenyans.co.ke]Despite his withdrawal from the just concluded repeat October 26 presidential race and thereafter traversing the country asking supporters to boycott the poll, NASA leader Raila Odinga still managed to garner not less than 74, 000 votes.Whether these votes came from 'disobedient' Raila supporters who defied Baba's call to boycott the election, or it came from ignorant Jubilee supporters who owing to poor voter education, may have put an 'X' sign against Raila's portrait to say they do not want him but in practice ended up voting for him, is a story for another day.Our focus is on what Raila can do or become with these 74K unsolicited votes.First, it is good to recognise that 74,000 votes that you spent days and resources traversing the country asking voters not to give you, isn't an easy thing to achieve. That said, Raila can with his 74,000 unsolicited votes become Lamu, Isiolo and Samburu governor or senator. According to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) latest figures, Lamu, Isiolo and Samburu counties have 69,776, 75,338 and 82,787 total registered voters respectively.Raila can also become a Member of the National Assembly (MP) at almost each of the 290 constituencies in Kenya. This implies that these same votes can make him MCA at any county ward, anywhere in Kenya.
