[Photo| Standard]Suspects linked to the attempted raid at the home of former Karachuonyo MP James Rege on Friday have been summoned and recorded statements.Detectives in Homa Bay summoned four MCAs who include Michael Odira (Kibiri), Paul Wamunga (North Karachuonyo), Ruth Ombura (Nominated) and Nereah Amondi (Nominated).Speaking to the press, Homa Bay DCI Daniel Wachira said the the county reps will assist them in their investigations over the raid.During the attack, a middle aged man was shot dead, two others suffered gunshot wounds while gate of Rege's homestead was destroyed."The four MCAs shall help us in our investigations as we seek answers on the attack of the former Karachuonyo legislator," said Wachira.Reports had indicated that the home was attacked after youths in the area suspected there were ballot papers being marked inside the home.Rege defected from Raila Odinga's ODM party and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party.
