The Jubilee government has been struggling to make entrance to the region which overwhelmingly voted for Cord in 2013.

Led by Senator Mong’are Okong’o, they pledged allegiance to Jubilee government, citing progressive development to the region as the major reason behind their decision.

“I have been checking on Jubilee government and I now see the reason why I should support the President. Launching this key road, pumping cash to our hospital in Nyamira and many other projects shows that this government is working,” Mong’are said.

“We don’t just oppose everything as opposition and time has come to team up with government for the sake of our people. And as a leader, I am satisfied that the government is working for my people and I have no problem to support it in 2017,” added North Mugirango MP Charles Geni who also doubles as ODM Nyamira branch Secretary.

Dr James Gesami of West Mugirango, who also chairs ODM Nyamira branch pledged allegiance to the President saying he had ‘done well’ and promised to support his reelection.

“Mr. President I have never abused you anywhere and based on what you are now doing to my Nyamira people , I have no doubt that I am persuaded to support your reelection,” he said.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, and only Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire and Women Representative Alice Chae who skipped to address the public showing there loyalty to the opposition.
