[Photo: NTV]The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Keriako Tobiko has strongly defended his office, against claims that it has failed to tame unethical politicians vying for various posts in the August 8 polls. Tobiko said they have made tremendous steps in investigating, since investigations against four aspirants are complete, while other 50 politicians, are still being investigated. Speaking on the side lines of the three-day IEBC National Elections Conference which ended Wednesday June 14, 2017, the DPP indicated the aspirants included gubernatorial, MCA, Senatorial, and parliamentary candidates. He said the cases were at various stages of prosecution.Tobiko also warned warmongers this electioneering period, saying his office would not hesitate to prosecute them.He further blamed political parties for allowing politicians with bad integrity to vie during nominations, saying the parties had contributed to the uncontrollable number of unethical politicians.
