Police in Thika sub-county have arrested four men who were allegedly about to commit a robbery with violence crime.
Confirming the incident, Thika police boss Shadrack Maithya said the men had been loitering in the area for about three hours. This aroused the public’s suspicions, which in turn made them inform the police on patrol.
The men were interrogated at the town centre before they admitted knowing of some amount of money at an M-Pesa agent at the scene they were spying.
Maithya confirmed that the suspects are all residents of Thika and they had with them blunt weapons, including a rungu and a bottle.
“The four are Thika residents and we have proved that they had bad intentions going by what they had in their possession,” Maithya said.
“Investigations are underway and the culprits will appear in court after we complete our investigations. Anyone mentioned in giving them information will face the law as we will not entertain any criminal activities in this town,” he warned.
The suspects are now in police custody awaiting to appear in court.
