Four Kunguuni Secondary School students in Chuka Igambang’ombe, were today araaigned in court in an attemp to set the school dormitory on a blaze. The students pleaded guilty before senior Principal Magistrate Alfred Kibiru.

The students named John Murimi, Samuel Mutembei, Elijah Mutugi and Morris Njagi were allegedly found in possession of five liters of petrol outside their class during the evening preps.

Education Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i had earlier given a stern warning against any student involved in burning school property that he/she should be arrested and prosecuted in court.

Speaking at Ngara Girls School during a prize giving ceremony, the Education CS revealed that such cases had been reported in 64 schools in three years.

“On this we are united. I have been in constant conversation with my colleague General Nkaissery, the police and everybody. The students should be arrested," he said.
