Police in Masinga sub-county, Machakos County on Tuesday morning arrested four suspected robbers aged between 20 and 25 years, at Masinga town.

Three of the four were arrested while sleeping in a rented house at Masinga town, where they stay.

Upon arrest, property worth Sh100,000 was also recovered in the house, believed to have been stolen from various parts of the county.

A sack with weapons including machetes, knives and equipment used in breaking doors were also recovered by the operating police officers.

Two of the four are said to have ongoing cases in court, in which they were released with bonds.

The fourth man is a bodaboda operator, who was arrested a kilometre from Masinga town, where he was also sleeping, and a kilo of bhang was also recovered.

According to the people who were spying the movements of the four, the men arrived at their respective houses at around 3.00am in the morning.

Masinga area Chief Henry Nyilu, confirming the reports said that they have been investigating robbery activities in the area when they suspected the four.

Nyilu also added that according to their investigations, the fourth guy, who is a bodaboda operator, has been using his motorbike to ferry his friends when in a robbery mission.

The four were locked up in Masinga police station, waiting to be arraigned in court, where Nyilu asked whoever who might have lost their property to show up at the police station to help in identifying the recovered property.
