Four men suspected to have been carrying out a series of theft in Masinga sub-county have been arrested.

Speaking after the arrest in Masinga police station today, Masinga town chief Henry Nyilu stated that together with police officers and community policy personnel they have been tracking the four after a tip from the public last week.

“We have arrested four suspects who have been stealing from the residents of Masinga town. We have been working with the officers from Masinga station and we made the arrest in one of the rented house in the town,” said Nyilu.

Three of the suspects were arrested while sleeping at around 9am.

Property worth more than Sh100,000 was recovered from the room. The police who have been following them said that the three returned to their room at around 3am.

The remaining culprit who is a bodaboda operator was arrested in Katulye location in his house and one kilogram of bhang found in his possession.

The bodaboda operator is believed to have been providing transport for the rest as they carry out their illegal activities.

The four have been taken to Masinga police station where they will be detained as they await to be arraigned in Kithimani court.

Meanwhile, the residents have been called upon to avail themselves so as to identify the property retrieved from the suspected thieves.
