Four suspected Wakali Kwanza members were on Wednesday night killed by police Mombasa.
The four, who are said to be the gang leaders, were killed in separate incidents in Kisauni constituency.
Confirming the incident, Kisauni OCPD Christopher Rotich said one of the suspects, who was killed at a house in Mshomoroni, was shot dead during a police raid after he attempted to attack the officers with a machete.
“A special team of police officers who had been trailing the suspects stormed the house where four suspects were hiding. The suspects realized police had surrounded their room and that’s when they armed themselves and tried to attack the police officers,” said Rotich, as quoted by Baraka FM.
The second suspect was shot dead in Mbongoni area following a tip off from members of the public.
The police boss said the third suspect was killed by an irate mob who hacked him to death using his machete.
