[Photo|The Star]Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) have said that a constructive national dialogue was the only way out of the supposed political crisis in the country. The bishops have said they will organize an all-inclusive National Dialogue Forum to set agenda for discussion and resolutions."Irrespective of the outcome of the Supreme Court on the Presidential Repeat Elections and any evolvement of the political situation, we are convinced that the National Dialogue Forum is necessary," Bishop Martin Kivuva of Mombasa Archdiocese said on Thursday. But what does the catholic's National Dialogue Forum seek to achieve? One, the bishops said it was evident that there were underlying issues that surfaced during elections that could be ironed out through dialogue. They also said that a national dialogue will focus on difficulties of elections in order to effect electoral reforms and bring about national healing and reconciliation.Third, the bishops noted that the National Dialogue Forum would also discuss criteria for addressing long-term issues of governance, transparency and accountability, poverty, unemployment and economic inequality.Fourth, the Catholic church leaders said that the forum would bring a collaboration with other religious leaders, civil societies and leaders in different sectors to build pillars of peace, reconciliation, justice and national cohesion. The bishops were speaking at the Christ the King Cathedral in Nakuru after a Holy Mass in memory of the late Bishop Cornelius Korir and special prayers for the country which was presided over by Cardinal John Njue.
