The University of Eldoret (UoE) is one of the public universities in the country situated approximately 9 kilometres from Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu county.

Starting from the Chancellor, Amb. Professor Judith Mbula Bahemuka, the Vice-chancellor Prof. Teresa Akenga, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) Ruth Otunga and the chief Librarian, Lydia Lelon.
The institution started as a Large-Scale Farmers Training Center by white settlers in 1946 then became a Teachers’ Training College.
Later, the college was taken over by Moi University as a campus to offer natural, basics and applied science programmes.
In 2010, it became a University College, a constituent College of Moi University and later on, awarded Charter and renamed University of Eldoret from Chepkoilel University College.
The University also holds annual Agribusiness trade fair which brings together actors in agricultural sector aimed at furnishing the local farmers, service providers and industry suppliers with an opportunity to exhibit their products.
Eldoret being the home of champions, the university offers a good training grounds for both international and aspiring athletes.
The university’s pavilion is meant to host athletic events such as the annual marathon and other major Athletics Kenya (AK) competitions.
