Senator Prof Anyang Nyong'o, Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga, Nyando MP Fred Outa and County ODM Chairman Ayecho Olweny said some politicians in the county were plotting to eliminate them ahead of the August 8, polls.

They linked the plot to the ongoing voter registration exercise and local politics.

"In the past few days you may have noticed some damaging information circulating on social media that I was dead," Nyong'o said at a press conference in Kisumu on Wednesday.

"I am not taking this lightly."

Nyong'o and Ruth Odinga are eying the Kisumu governor seat held by Jack Ranguma while Outa is gunning for the Kisumu Senatorial position.

Olweny, on the other hand, has set his eyes on the Muhoroni MP seat currently held by Onyang'o K'Oyoo.

There have been reports of voter importation in the county and the IEBC Is already investigating the allegations.
