Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua declared his presidential ambitions in the 2022 general elections immediately the high court upheld his August 8th election victory.
He stated, "Today is a declaration that the journey to statehouse is on and in 2022 I will vie and by God's grace win to become the 5th President of the Republic of Kenya."
His 2022 bid has already started receiving political endorsements. Former Kitui Senator David Musila has already backed him saying, “Governor Mutua has the qualities of a leader and as such he will go far in regards to his 2022 presidential dreams.”

William Ruto
The Deputy President made it clear way before the 2013 general elections that he will contest for the presidency in 2022 and is keen to keep his promise.
Kalonzo Musyoka
The Wiper party leader and NASA principal is also eyeing the top sit in 2022. After supporting Raila Odinga in 2017, he is confident fellow principals will back him come 2022.
Gideon Moi
The Baringo Senator and KANU party chairman had made it clear before 2017 elections that his party will back President Uhuru in 2017 and seek to take over from him in 2022.
Moses Wetangula
The Bungoma Senator, Ford Kenya party leader and NASA principal declared his presidential ambitions in 2022 elections while addressing school heads summit in Kisumu recently.
