Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Friday shocked the whole country when he met President Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee House, Nairobi.
The two political bigwigs resolved to work together to make Kenya a better nation.
The meeting raised mixed reactions with a section of NASA leaders noting that they were not consulted.
NASA supporters on their part noted that it was not right for the opposition chief to meet and resolve matters with the President.
Odinga's move to meet Kenyatta was, a betrayal to his supporters in the following ways:
1. The whole NASA fraternity stood in solidarity with him during the demonstrations and even in his economic boycott, but he did not consult them before meeting Uhuru Kenyatta.
2. A number of NASA supporters from Odinga's strongholds in Kisumu, Siaya, Homabay, Nairobi and other areas were killed during post-election demonstrations and have not been compensated yet the NASA leader has pledged to work with the government.
3. The fight against electoral fraud still remains unsolved as the officials who spearheaded the shambolic elections as NASA claimed are still in office and no action has been taken against them.
4. Lawyers Miguna Miguna and TJ Kajwang risked treason charges to inaugurate Odinga as the 'People's President' but their efforts are now termed as 'useless' as the former Premier resolved to work with President Kenyatta's government.
