It is now almost four years since the untimely death of former Homa Bay Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang.

A true NASA leader Raila Odinga's confidante at the time of his death, "Mapambano" is a legend in Luo Nyanza politics.

His long political relationship with Raila notwithstanding, the firebrand Kajwang never hesitated warning the former Prime Minister where necessary.

And four years later, some of his warnings are haunting the ODM leader amid new pockets of rebellion.

It is said that the former Mbita MP had warned Raila to crack the whip on rebellious MPs for the sake of party stability, the advice which Raila reportedly ignored.

And today, a new wave of rebellion has been set in motion by a group of Coast MPs led by Malindi lawmaker Aisha Jumwa.

"I support Raila, but he makes his own decisions. You are not a better leader when you see some people decide to go. He should do what Mudavadi did in his party: Force the rebels to seek a fresh mandate on another party. If he goes into the referendum when the rebellion is still on, he should be sure of losing it and that would bring the curtains down on his political life," Kajwang was told the Nairobian.

Perhaps it's high time Raila should implement Kajwang's proposal.

But will he?
