Deceased Kitui West MP could after all be replaced by his widow Edith Nyenze, Wiper party has said.
Nyenze, a former Minority Leader, was laid to rest on Tuesday in Kitui with several opposition leaders attending the function.
And during the burial, a section of Ukambani leaders backed Ms Nyenze adding that she would complete projects initiated by her late husband.
"She is couregeous and I strongly back her. I believe she will complete projects that were initiated by the husband," said Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.
Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo said: "In my opnion, Edith can finish this job because she is capable. That is my wish."
The sentiments from senior Ukambani members now brings to rest a debate whether on not Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka should go for the seat.
