Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has pleaded with Kenyans to help improve the living standards of members of the National Police Service.
He asked Kenyans to fundraise for the police, who are believed to be living in deplorable conditions.
“I plead with Kenyan professionals and business people. Let us go beyond the talk. We do not help our security sector by talking about how bad the police of chiefs are.
"Why don’t you make your contribution to better the lives of these good people?” asked Matiang'i.
“There is no government in the world that has enough resources to offer everything their respective public service requires.
"Most of the countries and communities we admire always benefit from corporate activity and community service,” he noted.
Matiang’i asked Kenyans to come out and donate to help government institutions just like they do for religious groups.
