Residents of free, area few kilometers from Nakuru town, have urged the county government to cool the dust that continues affecting them.

They claim that their life is in danger of being infected with respiratory problems caused by dust.

They have urged the government to pour water on dusty roads to prevent it from spreading to the estates, whenever vehicles pass by.

They narrated that the dust is everywhere including their houses, and are worried over the continued of the same.

Mary Njuguna, a resident said the dust has affected her children for long, forcing them to spend a lot for their treatment, funds that can be used in other developmental projects.

“I do not know if the government is seeing this, dust is everywhere. Our children are getting sick every day and taking them to hospital cost us a lot,” said Njuguna.

Johnston Kimanzi, a businessman and a resident said he has develop respiratory problems as a result of the dust.

He urged the county government to drip water on dusty roads to curb the problem, which they say might cause a major problem in the area and other areas

“I have develop a respiratory problem due to too much dust around, I think the government must do something to curb the menace,” said Kimanzi.
