Safran Morpho, the French company that provided the country with the electronic system used in last month’s polls has denied claims that its systems were manipulated to allow for an alteration of the results.
The firm has said according to findings from an ‘in-depth audit’ of the systems used, the claims by Raila Odinga and the NASA team are untrue.
Odinga wrote a letter to the French government, saying the firm’s system was hacked, allowing for ‘cooked figures’ which influenced the outcome of the election.
Speaking to French media outlet AFP, the company’s chief operating officer Frederic Beylier said the audit showed that the system in no way suffered manipulation of data, attacks, attempts to penetrate it or anything of that kind.
“We obviously checked if there could have been questionable manipulations by any authorised or unauthorised persons and can confirm there was no manipulation of data that could raise questions,” said Beylier.
During the Supreme Court case, NASA team said there were massive irregularities stemming from the system, which they said was hacked.
In addition, the lawyers representing the opposition side said a logarithm was introduced into the system, which allowed for manipulation of the results.
