Limuru town businessmen have complained over alleged frequent power blackouts which they say has seen their businesses go down.
The businessmen now want the Kenya Power to explain to them reason why the area experience frequent blackouts and to address the issues immediately.
In an interview with this writer in Limuru town on Saturday, the businessmen alleged that power blackouts are the order of day and that their attempts to get answers from Kenya Power have hit a snag.
Monica Wangechi, a salon owner said that lack of power has resulted to her business incurring losses so many losses, a situation she says should be looked into at once by Kenya Power.
“We have been experiencing ‘abnormal’ power blackouts which are so frequent, last week we had power cut for the whole of Monday, Wednesday and Thursday only for it to resume at night,” said Wangechi.
Wangechi’s concerns were echoed by John Mbatia who runs a Posho-Mill in Limuru town saying that frequent power blackout has affected his business.
Mbatia said that Kenya Power has not given any explanation or notice on any possible repairs being done in the town.
The Posho-Mill owner urged the power company to listen to their grievances and help rectify the problem that threatens their businesses.
The businessmen have since appealed to the area Member of Parliament John Kiragi to help them address the problem.
