Residents of Likoni have expressed their dissatisfaction with the Kenya Power company following frequent power outages.

The residents claim their businesses, especially those relying on power were making losses.

They said they now live in houses with no power as the power outages increase.

The residents claimed their pleas to the company had fallen into deaf ears since the company has not made any interventions to solve the problem.

Dennis Otieno, a 29-year-old who runs a video show said his business has not been operating as he expected and he is only operating on losses.

He said they are sometimes forced to close their businesses for the better part of the day due to lack of power.

To him, this is not good for businessmen like him, who are struggling to make ends meet.

"How are we going to feed our families," he lamented even as he asks the county government to intervene.

Mwanaisha Ali, who is also earning her livelihood in business is also angered by the power shortage menace.

"Am not happy with this whole thing. Let them find solution to this," she said.

Worse still for the residents is that they often incur unprecedented losses.

"My Television was destroyed yesterday," said George Wanyama.

The residents spoke to this writer on Friday.

My effort to get a comment from Kenya Power, Likoni sub-branch were futile as this writer was denied the opportunity to talk to the sub-branch coordinator.
