At least nine people have reportedly been killed following an attack on Saturday morning in an attack in Jima and Pandanguo villages in Lamu County.
The attack is said to have been carried out by suspected Al Shabaab militants.
"Nine people were killed, some were shot dead and others hacked," a police officer stated. "It is true we have lost nine people in today’s attack. You will get details from our bosses,” an officer said.
This comes barely a week after the same militants raided the area, razed down Pandanguo Police Post and destroyed a communication mast.
