Hundreds of families are fleeing their homes along the border of  West Pokot and Turkana county after fresh attacks that left two herders dead.

The two were killed at Lami Nyeusi with the attackers making away with more than four hundred livestock.

Insecurity in the border between West Pokot and Turkana Counties has brought back violence last witnessed two years ago.

Some of the passengers applying Lodwar-Kapenguria highway were being escorted by police officers.According to the residents, more than one hundred armed bandits believed to be from Turkana County always ambushed passengers from the top of Parkeywo Hills in West Pokot County and also aiming to steal livestock.

The residents now want the government to restore peace and end cattle rustling in the area.
