[Photo|the-star]Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has dismissed the petition filed by her political rival Martha Karua, contesting he election in the August 8 polls.Waiguru, a former Devolution Cabinet Secretary, accused the Narc Kenya party leader of siding with the Opposition, hence her decision to file the petition, immediately after the Supreme Court annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election, giving the Opposition a win.She said Karua had compiled evidence used by the Opposition, NASA, to contest Kenyatta's win, with aims to ask the court to nullify her as the second Kirinyaga governor."I said it from the word go, that this mother was not our own. She was on the other side, but she was just playing with our minds. You have now seen what she is upto. I knew it and I said it," said Waiguru.Addressing the media flanked by her supporters, Wednesday, the Jubilee Party governor asked the former Gichugu MP, to press on with the petition, since she was sure that the contest was a fair one."Let her go to court. We'll meet in court. She has compiled Supreme Court evidence filed by the other team (NASA), but we do not worry. We'll meet in court," she added.Karua who had declared support for Kenyatta's re-election filed a petition at the High Court in Kerugoya, through lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, citing massive anomalies in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race.Waiguru was declared the winner after garnering 159,606 votes against Karua's 120,341 votes.
