[Photo/Daily Nation]A political battle is looming between Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who also doubles up as KANU party leader. The possibility of the battle between the two leaders who seek to stamp their authority on who is the defacto leader of the Rift valley region may ensue following calls by DP Ruto to one KANU loyalist to step down in favour of his Jubilee rival in the August 8, poll.Reports indicated that DP Ruto has asked Kanu's Kuresoi South MP aspirant to step down and back the Jubilee sponsored candidate."Bruce, please. I am of the same age as your father. I beg you to step down and come for talks," said Ruto on Saturday at Keringet town.Mr Bruce Chitalu who is a former Presidential escort officer is seen as a big threat to the rulling Jubilee administration, but the call by Ruto may not go down well with Moi who is a bitter rival.Chitalu will face off with Joseph Tonui of Jubilee and Zakayo Cheruiyot of Chama Cha Mashinani.
