Molo MP Jacob Macharia has revealed plans to construct Molo – Kibunjia road.
Macharia said that they will announce the tenders to bid for the road construction in the next few days.
“We have revoked all the tenders and have divided the road from Kibunja – Molo and the Molo to Olenguruone being two different roads,” said Macharia.
“We are appealing to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to use the available resources on the Kibunja to Molo section once the tendering process is complete,” urged Macharia.
The move comes amidst demonstrations from local residents over the poor state of roads where they claimed that it’s poor status has seen insecurity cases rise in the area.
Njenga Matendo pointed out that there were increased cases of hijacking as the road provided a safe cover for robbers.
Peter Gichomo, a trader, urged the contractors who will be given the tender to do a professional job.
"The contractor who was on the site before did a shoddy job we want a professional who will do it well,” said Gichomo.
