A section of Jubilee MPs from Nyamira have vowed to resist attempts to take the country back to the referendum over constitutional changes.
While Raila Odinga hints that one of his agreement with President Uhuru Kenyatta is to introduce parliamentary system of government, DP William Ruto has dismissed the attempts.
But a team of Nyamira MPs have come into the defense of Ruto, insisting that the changes are ill advised and unnecessary.
"We have just come from a divisive election in which we spent a lot of time. It is misguiding and unnecessary for some leaders to start pushing for another campaign," said Joash Nyamoko, the North Mugirango MP.
Nyamira Women Rep Jerusha Momanyi said: "We shall mot allow people to short change Ruto using backdoor. He must be supported in 2022."
At Kisumu on Wednesday, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho warned that he will not entertain resistance from those who may try to block constitutional changes.
Under the proposed system, Prime Minister, who is the leader of the single largest party in parliament, shall be the de facto head of government.
