A section of Nakuru residents has demanded the resignation of Devolution CS Ann Waiguru over alleged corruption.
They say that the CS has been implicated in many scandals and should hence step down for investigations.
According to Mohammed Hamisi, a youth leader from Rhonda Ward, President Uhuru Kenyatta should compel her to step aside.
"How come when the other ministers were implicated the president demanded that they immediately step down for investigations? Why is she an exception? If she committed a crime she should immediately be interrogated and charged before the law courts," he added
Stephen Kihonge of the Nakuru Patriots said that the increased cases of Waiguru being tagged in corruption cases were worrying.
“It is unfortunate that every time there is a serious scandal involving the fleecing of billions of shillings she is in the midst of it but always escapes justice,” he claims.
They were speaking to the press in Nakuru where they called upon the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to conduct immediate audit and investigations.
“Kenyans are suffering from serious health issues and the money being misused could go into the purchase and upgrading of health facilities in the country. This will prevent people from losing their lives due to diseases that can be controlled including various types of cancer or kidney failure,” he added.
James Mwaura, a Nakuru town resident added that there was an urgent need for a robust vetting process to ensure credible people join the Cabinet.
