Speaking to Hivisasa on Monday, the motorists said the heavy traffic jams take much of their time forcing them to neglect their customers calling for their service.

"We ask our Governor to help solve the Daraja Mbili jam.We take a lot of time there when we take our customers there on Mondays and Thursdays which are market days.Sometimes we turn down offers from our customers to go pick them because moving through the traffic is difficult," said Isaac Momanyi, a taxi driver.

The motorists believe deploying enough traffic officers along the Kisii town- Daraja Mbili road will help end the traffic congestion.

"The county government should deploy enough traffic officers during the market days to end the ever occurring jams," said Vincent Bikenyi a rider on the route.

According to the motorists, if the government succeeds to control the itchy traffic jam, then the taxi industry will tap many profits.

Daraja Mbili market is a notorious blackspot located on the Kisii- Isebania Highway.Traders coming from across the Gusii region and even far as Tanzania, display their wares on the narrow Highway, leading to a heavy congestion.
