The coalition claims that the sessions that were called by National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi and Senate speaker Ekwee Ethuro were unconstitutional.

Cord made the Mmove on Wednesday through their executive director Norman Magaya in a case that Attorney-General Githu Muigai has been sued alongside the two speakers.

According to Cord, the law requires that all political parties must be consulted before a decision is made over election-related laws.

The coalition further accuses IEBC and Parliament over not involving the opposition political parties in the legislation of Parliament.

They have asked the High Court to issue an order barring the special sittings that were convened on December 20, 22 and 28.
